Whats #NEW? In New #Playstore #Update

A few weeks back, we saw Google update the desktop version of the Play Store. It quickly garnered a negative response and resulted in the company pulling said update. We also saw Google tinker with the mobile Play Store design in this period, and now, the firm is spreading the design to even more users.

Probably the biggest change is that the firm is ditching colors for areas like the changelog and the app rating prompts. Instead, we’ve got plenty of white menus. We also see circular badges (for number of download/reviews etc) disappear in favour of text.

As someone who enjoys lashings of color, it’s mildly annoying to see Google take this approach. Then again, I like phones to have garish colors, so my opinion doesn’t mean much.
Not seeing the Play Store update just yet? You might want to wait, or you can try our guide to updating the storefront.
