Google has announced the launch of Google Assistant in Hindi, allowing more users in India to take advantage of the Assistant. Last year, Google launched the Assistant in Hindi in Allo as well as made a special version available for Jio feature phones.
According to Purvi Shah, Technical Program Manager for Assistant at Google, developers and businesses can now build Actions for the Hindi Assistant through the developer platform Actions on Google making it even more useful to Indians over time.
You can ask questions like ‘Sabse kareeb Punjabi restaurant kahaan hain?’, ‘Dadar tak pahunchne mein kitna samay lagega?’, or ‘Cricket ka score kya hain?’ or give instructions like ‘Kal subah mujhe saat baje jagaao’, ‘Selfie kheencho’, or ‘Daddy ko SMS bhejo “5 minutes mein pahunchenge“.’ You can check out an overview of all the Actions already available for the Hindi Assistant here.
Google Assistant in Hindi is available for Android smartphones with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above, and will be available soon for devices with Android 5.0 Lollipop and Android Oreo (Go edition) as well as for iPhones with iOS 9.1 and above. All you need to access Google Assistant in Hindi is to set your device language to Hindi and update the Google Search app to the latest version.
