Google released the Android platform distribution numbers for the month of May, revealing that the latest iteration of its mobile OS – Marshmallow – was powering 7.5% of all active Android devices worldwide and now it has incresed to 10.1% of devices.
Lollipop adoption has decreased ever so slightly to 35.4% from 35.6%. KitKat took a slightly larger drop from 32.5% in May to 31.6% in June and Jelly Bean went down from 20.1% to 18.9% in the same period. Following up the list of ones that still matter is Ice Cream Sandwich which dropped from 2.0% to 1.9%. What’s a tad bit interesting is that Gingerbread went down from 2.2% to 2.0%, but is slightly higher than ICS! Even better is that Froyo is still on the list at 0.1%.
The report is based on ending of 6th June 2016 in a seven-day period.
